A clinical case of extraintestinal manifestations of ulcerative colitis
    (2023) Satapathy, Ayusha; Oliinyk, Mariia
The problem of treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases is relevant today. According to the International Research Committee, the incidence of ulcerative colitis (UC) has been steadily increasing in all countries in recent years. Arthritis develops in 20% of UC patients and is characterized by the involvement of a small number of large joints. Changes in the joints are usually completely reversible, but relapses are possible, the occurrence of which can be associated with an exacerbation of the underlying disease.

The relationship of muscle strength and osteoarthritis in women
    (2020) Olkhovska, Sofiia; Oliinyk, Mariia
Epidemiological studies demonstrate the high prevalence of osteoarthritis in the population. Thus, the frequency of OA of large (supporting) joints in people older than 65 years varies from 19.2 to 50%. The leading role in maintaining the stability of the joints belongs to the muscles that hold them in a physiological position and provide, together with the ligaments and capsule, full functioning. Degenerative changes in muscle fibers associated with aging underlie the development of sarcopenia.

Particularities of the calcium-phosphorus metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
    (2013) Oliinyk, Mariia
Recently, the problem of osteoporosis (OP) has been more and more important. Increase in the propitiation of aging population elevated the frequency of new cases of OP, bringing it to a leading position in the structure of not-infections diseases. In the modern classification of osteoporosis, a group of secondary osteoporosis ( about 15% of all cases of osteoporosis) and osteoporosis associated with type 1 diabetes mellitus is distinguished. The degree of impairment of calcium-phosphorus metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus has not been investigated.
